  • A time to practice your own practice with new insights, adjustments and additional pieces of work to facilitate more space. Anatomical insights to take the strain away from the joints, and increasing strength to hold joints in equilibrium. Lucy will work with you in the Asana – whatever your current practice.

A led class exploring our relationship to gravity, how to re-experience some of the asana from the Primary Series, using the floor and the walls to mirror our bodies, coming into the experience of effort, and then no effort, softening and releasing. Orientation to feeling our fascia, lengthen, soften and change. Conscious orientation to feeling the breath, the ribcage, and the inside space. Explorations into the process of twisting and turning, as we spiral our way into asana forms. Spirals support backbends and we will complete this session with strengthening the muscles of the back to inform opening the front body.

Embodying the layers of the primitive disc, the front, the back, and the middle body. (endoderm, ectoderm and mesoderm). How we can expand into asana, without contracting ourselves into tension. An informative class, using imagery, and soft, slow movement sequences to find our own relationship between the front and the back of us, as we navigate our felt sense of the middle body. moving from the inside to the outside.

about Lucy

With over three decades of experience in the world of bodywork, Lucy Crawford has forged a profound connection between movement, touch, and self-discovery. Her journey began in 1990 when she embarked on her career as an Aromatherapist, Massage Therapist, and Bodywork Practitioner at Natureworks in Central London. Fascinated by the transformative power of movement, Lucy delved into the practice of Yoga in 1992 under the guidance of Derek Ireland and Radha Warrell in London.

Lucy’s passion for Yoga led her to India in December 1993, where she embarked on a life-changing study with the revered Shri K. Pattabhi Jois. Under Guruji’s tutelage, Lucy received his esteemed blessing to teach in 1995, marking the beginning of her dedicated journey of sharing the transformative practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with others.

Today, Lucy’s impact as a renowned Yoga teacher extends far and wide. She conducts enriching Yoga workshops across the United Kingdom and around the globe, offering transformative Yoga retreats, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs for teachers, and empowering 200-hour Teacher Training.

Lucy’s teaching style has evolved into a captivating blend of anatomical precision and experiential exploration. Informed by her deep understanding of Craniosacral Therapy and her extensive study and work with Fascia, she invites students to embark on a journey of self-discovery through movement.

Lucy’s profound insight into the body’s response to touch and presence has shaped her unique approach to teaching. By cultivating an environment of intelligent touch, deep listening, and unwavering attention, Lucy encourages the body to respond with softening and release. It is through this loving and caring connection that practitioners can safely explore the practice of Yoga, transcending the notion of “doing” and embracing a journey of self-reflection and self-love.

Beyond her expertise in Yoga, Lucy’s vast knowledge encompasses various healing modalities. With a background in Aromatherapy, Applied Kinesiology, Holistic Massage, Bodywork, and Chavutti Thirimal (Indian Foot Pressure Massage), she brings a multidimensional perspective to her teachings. Moreover, as a qualified Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist with two decades of experience, Lucy has made a significant impact as a Tutor at the esteemed ‘Karuna Institute of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy’ in Devon.

Driven by her insatiable thirst for knowledge and her unwavering commitment to her students’ well-being, Lucy continues to expand her expertise by delving deeper into the realm of Fascia and fascial release techniques. As a qualified FIB practitioner (Fascial Informed Bodywork), she remains at the forefront of this exciting field.

Lucy’s presence in the world of Yoga and bodywork is a testament to her unwavering dedication and her boundless capacity to guide others on the path of self-discovery. Through her teachings, she illuminates the profound relationship between movement, touch, and the inherent wisdom that resides within each and every one of us.
